Eco-cycle resource: I save up in bins at my shop (((100%))) of anything TRASH that cannot be recycled or composted. Eco-cycle on Arapahoe near 63rd st. in Boulder, takes styrofoam and stretchy plastic(zip-lock bags, plastic grocery bags, bread bags, news paper bags, cellophane, and the type of bag that a goldfish would come in from a fair or something…. I digress. For a minuscule $3.00 fee, they take all that and sell it to companies that use it as a building a material i.e. Trex deck boards(the plastics) and CD cases(for the styrofoam).
Everything else: Everything that cannot be taken to Eco-cycle, recycled, or composted…. are you ready?….. Chip bags, candy bar wrappers, dog food bags, styrofoamISH to go boxes from restaurants, the thing that meat comes on or in from the grocery store, latex things… etc. I MULCH IT ALL UP IN A BLENDER AND PERMANENTLY ENCAPSULATE IT IN SEALED HOLLOW SCULPTURES. So it will NEVER wind up in your neighborhood, third world country, or the ocean. It will live for the rest of eternity in a hollow metal sculpture of mine, or a student. Like radioactive waste encapsulated in a lead coffin buried under concrete. It’s no longer an issue. Converted into harmless and beautifully perplexing upcycled art.
